Sergio Pamies is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and researcher whose work explores the intersections of jazz, flamenco, and Latin American musical traditions. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Jazz Piano at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he teaches jazz piano, small group performance, jazz styles and analysis, arranging, and advanced improvisation. His academic research focuses on jazz styles and the unique contributions of jazz masters to the art form, oral traditions, jazz pedagogy, and the stylistic hybridization of jazz with musical elements from other cultures, particularly flamenco.
